Revitalizing the software community for everyone's benefit.

In February of 2008, six people in San Diego decided to change the software world for the better to benefit developers and users.

Matt Meredith's Business Card

Hey there, I’m Matt, and I do web stuff around here. More specifically, I work on the network that powers all of OpenCandy’s recommendations.

I started guerrilla web hacking at a young age, so it made sense for Blake and I to start a web development company right out of high school. After a few years of late nights, maxed-out servers, version-control-free code, and very little money, we joined forces with DivX to create Stage6. The video sharing site was destined to fly close to the sun (Alexa Top 100, in fact), but its wings made of wax couldn’t take the heat, and it mightily crashed in the beginning of 2008. What would later become the OpenCandy founding team picked themselves up from the rubble, dusted themselves off, and went off to make history. Or, at least, recommendations.

I like books containing zombies, games made by Bethesda Softworks, and movies about pretty much anything.
