I’m Julie and I appear sometimes in the OpenCandy office. I have been moonlighting at OpenCandy on a part-time basis while being a full-time mom at home. After taking a three year sabbatical from work while having two kids and following my Navy husband around the world, it’s refreshing and rewarding to return to San Diego and work with passionate creators and doers.

At OpenCandy, I wear many hats. I have a strong background in finance and operations and love to take on challenges. Whether it’s creating processes, departments or financial models, I thrive on being innovative and resourceful. My past experience includes product management and oversight of the Open Video System at DivX, Inc., an online video delivery solution and its partner and encoding services. During my tenure, the Open Video System grew from inception to a multi-million dollar product serving more than 50,000 titles providing playback on PCs and on DivX Certified CE devices. My pre-startup days include corporate jobs at both Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. where I focused on automating and streamlining internal processes and at Arthur Andersen, LLP, where I earned my California Certified Public Accountant license and serviced audit clients in the retail and distribution, oil and gas, non-for-profit and government sectors. I am an alumnus of UC Santa Barbara and hold a BA degree in Business Economics with an Accounting concentration.

When I’m not moonlighting at OpenCandy, you might catch my alter ego on the volleyball court, training for the next triathlon or at the park with my sons.
