Partner Support Engineer

Greetings! I’m Joseph, but you can call me “Goose.” as I am your “wingman” or Partner Support Engineer at OpenCandy.

Before I became a Candy-ite, I got my first professional job as a script writer! Not for movies but for databases queries. I also developed small web based applications and websites for a Collection law firm where I worked as a technical communicator with an interesting title of Database Librarian. There I got my experience in tech talk with clients such as Toyota, Ford, HSBC, Capital One, Target, etc. I’m also an amateur developer with experiences in C/C++, Java, C#, FORTRAN. My current targets of expertise are in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.Net, and AJAX.

Prior to computer gigs I was as a Peer Academic Advisor for the loving family of the Business Advising Center at San Diego State University. There I learned how to network and sharpen my unorthodox communication skills with students, administrators and professors whom I still kept in touch.

At OpenCandy I’m responsible for helping our partners integrate and get them to production. I’m also involved in quality assurance and a little scripting support for INNO and NSIS for our integration kit sent to our partners. Now I’m highly involved with targeting and analysis of installers.

In my free time, I like to go out and hang with my friends. As an aspiring rock star I like listening to hard rock music and play monster ballads and girly songs on my guitar. I’m also heavily involved with leveling my character and expanding our guild in World of Warcraft. Mentally stuck in the 80’s and 90’s musical era, big MacGyver fan, loves MMA(watching and training) , and problem seeker and solver, I would say I’m one of those guys that are unique in different ways.
