Community Guru

Hi, I’m Dr. Apps, and I’m passionate about great software. The kind of software that when you first use it, you think, “How did I ever live without it?” I’ve got a knack for finding apps like that and that’s one of the reasons I’m OpenCandy’s Software Community Guru.

At OpenCandy my job is to spread the word about what we are doing and invite the creators of software I love to participate. Not a bad deal! All that and I get to work with a team of talented individuals who are focused on changing the (software) world.

Prior to joining OpenCandy, I spent seven years in the financial services industry creating financial plans. Well, when I wasn’t running around fixing everyone’s computers! After that, I started my own IT consultancy to help small businesses and home users keep their Windows machines safe and secure.

I love being a dad, building my own PCs, playing with and fixing gadgets, and watching the Food Network, even though I’m not yet a “foodie” like Chester or Joe.
