Hi, I’m Darrius and I’m a lucky guy. I get to be part of a team that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for a number of years before starting OpenCandy. When our founding team got together to start our next venture we all agreed we had to do something that we deeply cared and would be passionate about. Thus the vision for OpenCandy was born.

Prior to OpenCandy I was one of the founders and “executives” at a company called DivX. While at DivX I first took responsibility for launching DivX, the codec, into the market as an open source project called OpenDivX. From there I did what I loved most which was continuing to build our consumer products business and corporate strategy. We created apps like the DivX Player, Web Player, DivX Codec, Dr. DivX and the late high quality video website called Stage6. And we had our apps baked into just about every popular consumer media app out there. The team here at OpenCandy played a core part in these past successes. We’ve moved forward as a team to work on something we care about.

I’m a consumer products guy, an entrepreneur at heart, a guy who has the worlds best team, a lover of super endurance sports (motor or physical) and most important a husband and a new dad.
