Our Sweet History
In February of 2008, six of us met in a coffee shop in San Diego to figure out a way to use our knowledge of software creation, distribution and monetization to solve a problem we were passionate about.
Our experience in the software community showed us how challenging it is to get great software discovered. So, we sought out to help developers increase distribution and monetization, thus fueling innovation and spurring competition that users would greatly benefit from.
OpenCandy was born.
Today, our team has more than doubled in size. We’re working with some of the world’s best software developers and our network is powering millions of recommendations of great software every month.
We’re backed by investors like Bessemer Venture Partners, O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, Reid Hoffman, and Jordan Greenhall who have joined us on this mission to revitalize the software community.
