Our Network
The OpenCandy network enables software developers to recommend software they think would be valuable to their users. Developers can also make their applications available to be recommended by others to increase their own distribution.

How It Works
Software publishers select the applications they want to recommend to their users. When a user runs their OpenCandy powered installer, our plug-in queries our servers for the list of those applications, and chooses the best recommendation for the user. The entire process is dynamic, so publishers can change their recommendations at any time without having to rebuild their installer. With OpenCandy, you keep your current installer platform & eliminate bundling.

We provide anonymous analytics to software publishers so they can understand how well their software’s installation and recommendations are working. This way, they can learn how to build a better user-experience and make more valuable recommendations.

A User-Friendly Way to Monetize or Increase Software Distribution
Prior to OpenCandy, monetizing software distribution meant bundling opt-out browser toolbars, silly weather and obtrusive “smart” shopping apps or bombarding users with multiple screens of bundled software. We’ve created a better way. Our opt-in recommendations translate into higher-quality users, better conversion rates and a friendly way to introduce software to new users.

Join the developers already making money recommending great audio, video, backup, communications, remote access, photo, productivity, security, and storage apps..

OpenCandy Buzz

OpenCandy has given Miro an ethical way to generate revenue. As a non-profit organization, we care a great deal that they respect and care for the rights of users more than making money. Unlike other companies we've talked to about software bundling, they are always looking out for the user and don't force software down people's throats. They have a novel idea: recommend software that people might want and ensure they want it by requiring them to opt-in.
