As our Director of Marketing, you’ll be responsible for owning, developing and executing upon our corporate and product marketing strategies. You’ll evangelize our vision, products and initiatives with consumers and partners through marketing activities and will be expected to execute both strategically and tactically. You will also be expected to have the ability to guide and manage teams.
The role of “marketing” often encompasses a number of critical functions within an organization. Given that we’re a small and growing start-up; we’re looking for that rare individual who has solid marketing experience in a diversity of specific areas with the strongest emphasis on corporate brand marketing (a must) and product marketing (a plus).
What you’ll be doing
Key roles and responsibilities for this position will include the following.
- Lead corporate and brand marketing efforts
- Manage product communications (both inside and outside the company)
- Be a key product advocate within the company
- Be a key product spokesperson and press contact, fielding a wide variety of media and analyst inquiries
- Develop relationships with relevant journalists and key partners
- Determine and execute upon effective product marketing strategies
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following.
- BS/BA degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of general marketing experience
- Substantial corporate communications experience
- Rock-solid professional and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience marketing consumer products (B2C experience is a must)
- Experience launching new products or existing products into new markets
- Proven ability to manage teams and multiple projects
- Demonstrated resourcefulness with the ability to champion initiatives throughout an organization.
- Strong desire to be a consumer champion

What you’ll be doing
- Leading: Managing the OpenCandy sales organization and taking a smart, talented team of sales and business development stars to the next level
- Scaling: Hiring, training and mentoring the sales team as well as establishing the right process and structure to enable the team to execute proficiently
- Selling: Prospecting, contacting, engaging, negotiating and closing deals with new partners
- Collaborating: Working closely with the other team leads (from account management to advertising operations and partner integration to product management) to ensure each group’s strategy and objectives are aligned toward the same end goal

What we’re looking for
- Ability to focus and prioritize in the fast-paced environment of a start-up
- Ability to see beyond the short-term and work toward goals that will set us on the right path for long term success and sustainability
- At least 4 years of experience managing sales teams for a technology start-up, preferably for a two-sided marketplace like an ad network
- A successful sales record of at least 6 years with at least 4 years in the online technology or software industries
- A proven ability to sell large, complex deals and to meet or exceed 7-figure dollar quotas
- Excellent written and verbal, internal and external communication and presentation skills
- Experience with leading CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce)
- Strong familiarity with and experience using analytics platforms to track success metrics
- An entrepreneurial spirit
- A passion for new and cutting edge web and software technology

Graphic Designer

What you’ll be doing
- Prospecting: Identifying, researching, and prioritizing potential publishers who might be able to benefit from OpenCandy’s software monetization solution
- Contacting: Doing what it takes to get in front of key decision makers in the industry. In many cases, these publisher deals are initiated and closed through unconventional means (via chat, IM, Skype, e-mail, etc.)
- Engaging: Rather than typical “tell and sell” sales pitching, you will be expected to actually engage in discussions with publishing partners about their problems and how we can solve them
- Building: Thinking outside the box and creatively structuring new deals and models that will greatly influence the shape of the business
- Negotiating: Arriving at mutually beneficial solutions for OpenCandy and its publisher partners, both in person and on ‘paper’
- Closing: Relentlessly and tenaciously moving deals towards the finish line
- Executing: Managing publishers from close to launch to success (closing is only half the battle)

We’re looking for a top notch server side engineer, this is *not* a web development position. You will have experience building/designing and scaling mission critical high performance, high availability systems on Linux (RHEL) with databases.
